Michael Blevins is a lifetime student of the human body. He started his journey into the fitness world with a decade of martial arts training and philosophy. He dedicated five years training, competing and winning in the endurance sports of road cycling and triathlon. He has spent the past decade traveling and training with some of the world’s best coaches and athletes as a personal pursuit of developing general physical preparedness for athletic endeavors, lifestyle pursuits, and military application. He has lifted, rode, and learned with Powerlifting record holders, Ironman champions in South Africa, European weightlifting champions in Sofia, Bulgaria, and has taught and shared ideas with regional and CrossFit Games athletes, Strongman title holders, National weightlifting champions, MMA title belt holders, and coaches from multiple disciplines around the world.
Beyond the accolades and fitness accomplishments of which many trainers also espouse, Michael has an unusual ability to connect the physical with the psychological. He spent a decade as a hairdresser, make-up artist, and fashion photographer, the insights from which he applies to his work today. His history as an educator, and his ability to see through different lenses allows him work and succeed in unusually difficult circumstances.
He is a former instructor and seminar staff of Gymjones in Salt Lake City, where he was mentored by Mark Twight. Michael was a trainer in service to the production of major motion pictures such as: Man of Steel in which he coached Henry Cavill, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue as well as many of the stunt crew. 300 Rise of an Empire, as lead trainer for Sullivan Stapleton, as well as the other 40 remarkable physical specimens of the stunt and acting crew. He was recently the personal coach of Henry Cavill for Batman V. Superman: Dawn of justice, and the anticipated film Justice League.
He has been featured in multiple publications for his original methods in nutrition, training, and competition, such as: Train magazine, Details Magazine, Men's Health (UK/USA), Men's Fitness (UK/USA), and Muscle&Fitness. He is a featured coach and contributing writer for www.breakingmuscle.com. He is also part of the coaching staff for the professional fitness team The LA Reign; part of the GRID league organization.
When not traveling he resides in Salt Lake City, UT, where he and his wife train and compete internationally in multiple different disciplines including: CrossFit, Weightlifting, and various endurance pursuits. He is currently working on an in-depth writing project that is expected to materialize by fall of 2018.
